The popularity of fuel efficient cars is growing in leaps and bounds and the major reason for this is definitely the fact that these cars now have considerably improved performance. Earlier people used to refrain from buying fuel efficient cars mainly because they didnt have enough power. This was a major reason as the car lovers would never buy something that was not enjoyable to drive. Fortunately, modern technology has taken care of that and fuel efficient cars today are just as fast as their more powerful counterparts.
Another reason was their rather boring design. These days, however, this problem has been mostly solved, as cars with best gas mileage today look just as good, or in many cases even better, as any other modern vehicle. Simply have a look at the Ford Escape, Lincoln MKZ or Lexus 450 Hybrid. All three look great and can save you plenty of money at the gas pump!
